3 Dead, 20 In Critical  Condition At Okyereko Junction, Winneba

Three passengers died on the spot while 20 others in critical condition and receiving treatment at Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital after Sprinter Benz Bus collided with Hyundai Grace .

The tragic accident occurred at Gomoa Okyereko Junction in the Gomoa East District on the Kasoa – Winneba highway in the Central Region.

The Accident was between a VW Sprinter Benz Bus with the Registration number GW 5477-24 and Hyundai Grace with the Registration GR 5899-22.

In an interview with Angel News, an Eyewitness Kweku Atta said, driver of the sprinter Benz Bus was heading towards Takoradi while the Hyundai Grace was also from Winneba to Kasoa.

Kweku Atta said, the Sprinter Benz Bus made a wrongful overtaken and collided with the Hyundai Grace.

Two male and one female died on the spot.

All the 20 victims who are in critical condition are receiving treatment at Accident and Emergency Unit of Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.

Meanwhile Winneba Municipal Fire Service Commander, D02 Fredrick Adu- Poku cautioned drivers to desist from the unnecessary overtaken since we are approaching Christmas Festivities.
