Seven Arrested In Anti-Drug Operation In Dunkwa-On-Offin

The Central North Regional Police Command in Assin Fosu has arrested seven individuals in a targeted anti-drug operation in Dunkwa-On-Offin, Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central Region. The operation, led by Regional Commander DCOP Abraham Acquaye, resulted in the seizure of various illicit substances.

Among the confiscated items were 69 compressed parcels of substances suspected to be marijuana, quantities of tramadol, and other dried leaves concealed in polythene bags and sacks.

The arrested individuals include five suspected drug peddlers and two users. Notably, a couple, 59-year-old Gifty Yeboah and her partner Kofi Essien are among those apprehended.

DCOP Abraham Acquaye emphasized the importance of community cooperation in combating drug-related activities and cautioned the youth against drug abuse, urging them to focus on building a better future.

The suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to be arraigned before the court as investigations continue.
