Ahafo Chiefs Appeal To President Mahama For Road Construction

The President of the Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs and Ntotroso Manhene, Barima Twereko Ampem, has appealed to H.E. John Dramani Mahama to help address the poor state of roads in the Ahafo Region.
Speaking on behalf of the chiefs during the President’s thank you tour in the Ahafo Regional capital, Goaso, on Saturday, May 31, Barima Twereko Ampem highlighted that Ahafo contributes significantly to Ghana’s development by producing vital resources such as timber, foodstuffs, and gold.
According to him, the poor condition of roads in the region hampers economic activities and development, hence the urgent need for improvement.
In response, former President Mahama assured the chiefs and residents that he had already instructed the Ministry of Roads and Highways to begin work on several key road networks in the Ahafo Region.
These include the Acherensua, Ntotroso, and Atronie–Sunyani highways, as well as the Mim–Kasapin, Bediako, Camp 16, Kukuom–Sankore, Gambia No.1, and Kyeremasu roads.
He emphasized that these projects would be executed under the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) “Big Push” infrastructure program aimed at improving transportation and boosting regional development.
