Residents In Pretsea Community Laments Over Lack Of Developmental Projects

Some residents in *Pretsea*, a farming community, in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region, have expressed dissatisfaction as the community lacks certain basic developmental projects to improve the living conditions of the members in the area.

In an interview with some of the residents, they shared varied sentiments and hope the challenges would be addressed to help bring some relief to the residents.

*Madam Alice Kwofie*, a resident in the community, said they have little to no access to potable clean water, adding that they relied on a stream for water but currently it was in a poor state.

“ A company located at Pretea junction releases its waste products into the stream, making it unsafe for human use”, she lamented.

She noted that school going children had to walk long distances before they get access to potable water for school.

Madam Kwofie, also mentioned that their road network and school facilities were in poor condition and needed urgent attention.

“Students have to walk several miles before they get to school, since the school buses do not have easy access to the community due to the poor nature of the road.

She explained that access to health care delivery was a challenge as pregnant women fell victim when in labour because of the long distance they have to travel before getting medical attention.

She therefore appealed to the government and benevolent organizations to come to their aid to help them get access to these facilities to aid in comfortability especially access to public restrooms.
