Berekum East MCE And MP Cut Sod For The Construction Of Educational And Infrastructural Facilities To Boost Growth

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Berekum East, Hon. Hajia Fati Abubakar, in collaboration with the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Hon. Simon Amparbeng Kyeremeh, have officially commenced a series of significant projects aimed at constructing various educational and infrastructural facilities to promote development and progress within Berekum East.

In an interview with Angel News following the sod-cutting ceremony, Berekum East MCE, Hon. Hajia Fati Abubakar, highlighted the scope of the construction efforts.

These include a three-unit classroom block and a mechanized borehole for Kutre No.2 R/C School, a two-unit KG block and a staff common room for Madrasati Islamic Primary, ten mechanized boreholes for the residents of Kyiribaa and other communities, and a three-unit classroom block for Biadan Methodist Junior High School, among other projects.

She emphasized that this initiative is designed to significantly enhance the growth and development of Berekum East Municipal, underscoring the commitment of the NDC to improving access to quality education while simultaneously addressing essential infrastructure needs to foster a conducive environment for both learning and community advancement.

Mr. David Owusu Ansah, Berekum East Municipal Director of Education, expressed his gratitude to the MCE, the MP, and the NDC government for their contributions to the educational infrastructure projects.
He noted that these projects will significantly help to reduce congestion in certain classrooms, which is due to the lack of sufficient space to accommodate the students due to overcrowded students population.

He mentioned that there are approximately 12 classrooms that are currently overcrowded, with 4 of them included in the ongoing construction initiative.

He emphasized that the remaining 8 classrooms require urgent attention to prevent overcrowding and to provide ample space for effective teaching and learning.
