Tutuka Residents Picket At Newmont Site Over Feeding Fee.

Residents of Tutuka and its surrounding communities in the Asutifi North District of the Ahafo Region have staged a picketing exercise at the site of Newmont.
The residents say after the company took over their lands for relocation, it promised to provide a feeding fee for each household.
However, they claim the company intends to pay GH¢9 per household, an amount they describe as inadequate.
The residents are demanding not less than GH¢200 and have threatened to camp at the company’s premises until their demands are met.
District Chief Executive for Asutifi North, Hon. Hafiz Dauda Dabeil, says authorities will engage stakeholders to resolve the issue amicably.
Meanwhile, Ahafo Regional Police Commander, DCOP Mr. James Annor, has urged the residents to remain peaceful and abide by the law.
End.
