We Are Tired Of Lies And Threats” Krofrom Traders Cry Out As Market Rot In Weeds And Fear.

Anger and frustration are boiling over at Krofrom Market as traders accuse the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and city authorities of deceiving them about the stalled redevelopment project.
Described by many as one of the most controversial markets in the Ashanti Region, Krofrom has become a symbol of broken promises, neglect, and fear.
For months, traders say they have been told that work is ongoing and that contractors are on site, But they insist it is all a lie.
“All the authorities who keep saying contractors are working vigorously are telling lies., Go there now, there is no contractor on site.
The place is empty,” one trader told Ange Tv News reporter Bismark Mensah.
The traders say the delay is crippling their businesses and putting their lives at risk.
Beyond the stalled project, traders say they are living in fear.
According to them, anyone who dares to speak to the media about the poor state of the market is threatened.
“Our lives are in danger because of this market. When you speak to the media, they threaten you,” a trader said.
They recalled a disturbing incident last month when, in full view of traders and customers, a journalist who came to cover the market’s condition was allegedly beaten mercilessly.
The current state of Krofrom Market is bleak.
The compound is overgrown with weeds, and portions of the market have become a shelter for vagrants who now sleep there at night.
“We are fed up. We are fed up with the threats.
We are fed up with the lies. We are fed up with sleeping in fear while our market dies,” another trader lamented.
The traders are now making a direct appeal to the KMA Mayor Mr Richard Ofori Agyeman aka King Zuba the Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene , and central government to stop the politics and tell them the truth about Krofrom Market.
“We are not asking for too much. We just want our market back, We want to trade in peace without fear and without lies,” they said.
