Flood Saga: Three dead, Over Two Thousand Submerged In Weija-Gbawe As Lafa Mantse Embarks On Dredging Project-Nadmo ADMO Director.

The NADMO director for Weija Gbawe Municipal Assembly Mr Emmanuel Essel has hinted that three persons lost their lives through the flooding during the heavy downpour on Monday whilst over two thousand were submerged.
According to Mr. Emmanuel Essel, the excessive flooding was as a result of bad attitudes of residents who dumps refuse into gutters during rainfall but the Assembly is taking punitive measures in place to demolish buildings in water ways and flood prone areas.
The NADMO director used the opportunity to commend Lafa Mantse Nii Ayi Okoforobour for embarking on dredging project of the Korkordjor river in the area, he has however announced plans of the Weija-Gbawe Assembly to start dredging of drains and choked gutters to enhance free flow of rainwaters whenever it rains .
Mr. Essel was speaking to the media when the NADMO team inspected the dredging project being carried out by Nii Ayi Okoforobour Lafa Mantse at Ash Bread community a suburb of Weija Barrier.
Meanwhile, Lafa Mantse Nii Ayi Okoforobour has explained that the well-being of the people is his topmost priority hence decided to embark on five days dredging project to reduce flooding in the Area.
He has encouraged traditional authorities and opinion leaders to think about Ghana first and prioritize development over selling of lands whenever they gets the opportunity to lead the people.
