Police Left Stranded At Twifo Praso Government Hospital Morgue As Mortuary Attendant Rejects Murder Victim’s Body.

Police officers from the Wassa East District Police Command in the Western Region have been left stranded at the Twifo Praso Government Mortuary after the mortuary attendant at the facility declined to accept the body of an alleged murder victim.

The officers had transported the deceased to the mortuary for preservation as investigations into the suspected murder continue.

However, the morgue attendant informed them that the facility had reached full capacity and could not admit any additional bodies.

Hospital authorities also expressed concern over what they describe as the frequent practice of police leaving bodies at mortuaries for extended periods under the guise of ongoing investigations.

According to the authorities, the delays in retrieving such bodies place a significant burden on the facility and create operational challenges.

The incident reportedly left the police searching for an alternative mortuary to preserve the body while investigations continue.
