KNUST Administrators Declare Indefinite Strike Over Allowance Disparities

The Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has declared an indefinite strike, effective Monday August 10, 2026.

The Association, which comprises non-teaching staff of the university, is protesting allowance disparities and the poor working conditions of its members.

The strike is expected to affect service delivery at various administrative offices including IT, accounting, development departments and the university’s hospitals as the administrators lay down their tools.

Secretary of GAUA, Phanuel Seli Kwadzo Asense, spoke with in an interview with our news reporter, Bismark Mensah, following an emergency association meeting.
