MCE Pledges Motorbike, Furniture And 6-Unit Classroom Block For Asensu Dwen.
The Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Dominic Adoma Ameyaw, has pledged to support the newly constructed KG block by Dormaa North District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Asensu Dwen with additional educational facilities and logistics to enhance teaching and learning.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Adoma Ameyaw said the completion of the school building would pave the way for teachers to be posted to the community.
He disclosed that the teacher posted to the school would benefit from a motorbike jointly provided by the MCE and the Member of Parliament (MP) to facilitate the teacher’s movement to and from the school.
The MCE further promised to provide additional furniture for the school whenever the need arises.
He said the Assembly was prepared to complement the efforts of the Presbyterian Church, which initiated the construction of the KG block because those who start a good course deserve support adding that the Assembly would construct a six-unit classroom block for the community to accommodate pupils from the lower to the upper primary level.
Hon. Adoma Ameyaw therefore appealed to Nananom and members of the Asensu Dwen community to support the Assembly with prayers in fulfilling the commitments made towards improving education in the community.
Mr. Mahama Kwadwo Dramani, a Circuit Supervisor, who represented the Dormaa Central Director of Education, Mr. Philip Adom Danso expressed gratitude to the Presbyterian Church of Ghana,
Dormaa North District, for constructing a new KG block for the people of Asensu Dwen. He said the Education Directorate would post teachers to the school once it begins operations.
He acknowledged the promise by the Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) to provide a motorbike for any teacher posted to the community, noting that the gesture would motivate the teachers urging that parents and Nananom must support the teachers in kind to motivate them to give off their best.
He further appealed to parents to ensure their wards attend school regularly, stressing that the Education Directorate is ready to provide the necessary support, including textbooks and other essential teaching and learning materials, to ensure the successful operation of the school.
Mr. John Ashrifie, the Bono Regional Manager of Presbyterian Schools said his outfit will monitor and track the promises made by MCE to ensure the motorbike is provided to the teacher who will be posted to the community to motivate and facilitate his or her movement to and from the school.
He also acknowledged the commitment made by the representative of the Municipal Education Directorate, particularly the provision of exercise books and textbooks for the school to support effective teaching and learning and promote the growth of the school.
He further appealed to parents and Nananom to cultivate a strong maintenance culture by ensuring that minor damages, including broken furniture, are repaired promptly emphasizing that maintaining the school building and its facilities would help sustain the project and create the needed environment for its expansion either from the Presbyterian Church or the government of the day.
