Only Criminals Run Away From EOCO And NIB Invitations – NDC Ashanti Regional Chairman Hopeful.

An aspiring Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Isham Alhassan Yaw Bonsu, has stated that anyone who runs away from invitations by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) and the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) is afraid because they have committed a crime.

According to him, innocent persons will not hesitate to honour invitations from the security agencies, but those who have engaged in wrongdoing will resort to public announcements and evade the invitation.

“Anyone who is running away from EOCO and BNI is afraid because they have committed crime. If you haven’t done anything bad you will feel free and go and meet either BNI or EOCO but you will not rather run and make public announcement,” Hon. Isham Alhassan stated.

He revealed that several NDC businessmen have been invited by EOCO and they have duly honoured the invitations without making noise.

“I know a lot of NDC businessmen who have been invited by EOCO and they are honouring the invitation. Why is the NPP people ranting like the NDC government is chasing innocent people?” he quizzed.

Hon. Yaw Bonsu stressed that the current government is committed to fighting corruption and retrieving stolen state funds, and persons who have misappropriated public resources will be made to account.

“If only you have done corruption or stolen Ghana money, you will vomit the money,” he warned.

He called on Ghanaians to support EOCO and BNI to execute their mandate without fear or favour, adding that accountability is key to Ghana’s development.
