Ashaiman Residents Turn To Toilet Manhole Water Amid 3-Week Supply Cut.

Residents of Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region have been forced to resort to using water from a manhole meant for flushing a public toilet, following a prolonged interruption in water supply to parts of the constituency.

The residents say taps in the area have remained dry for more than three weeks, leaving households struggling to access water for their daily activities.

According to them, the Ghana Water Company Limited stopped the supply without prior notice, worsening the situation and leaving many residents with limited alternatives.

The water shortage is reportedly affecting several essential household activities, including cooking, bathing, washing and other domestic needs.

At Ashaiman Valco Flat, some residents have turned to a manhole constructed to provide water for flushing a public toilet as their main source of water.

The residents say they have been left with little choice but to depend on the water source despite concerns about its suitability for domestic use.

Frustrated residents who spoke to us appealed to the authorities, particularly the Ghana Water Company Limited, to urgently restore regular water supply to the area.

The Manhole Owner on her path said she is only helping the situation looking at how dire the situation has been.
