The Residence of the 2020 National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary aspirant for Weija-Gbawe, Nii Saka Allotey aka Gyatabi, was besieged by angry party comrades over an alleged visa fraud running into hundreds of thousands of cedis.
According to one of the victims who is said to be the constituency chairman for New Juabeng North Hon Nana Agyeman Dua,what made them believe and part with their monies was that the aspirant Nii Saka Allotey lied to them that the visa slots were coming directly from the office of the Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang and the First Lady of the land, Mrs. Lordina Mahama.
Another aggrieved comrade Mr Seth Donkor he needs a full refund of his money ,adding that himself and some other comrades trusted him because of the big names mentioned.
Mr seth Donkor dispute the GH¢450,000 figure quoted by the aspirant, insisting their records show the amount exceeds that.
In a phone conversation with Angel news Opanyin Darko the aspirant, Nii Saka Allotey aka Gyatabi, said the whole amount he took from them was GH¢450,000, but efforts to make himself available to his own comrades to settle the matter have proved futile.
The comrades are now calling on the NDC national leadership to intervene, ensure their monies are refunded, and to clear the names of the Vice President and the First Lady whose offices have been dragged into the scandal.
As of press time, the offices of the Vice President and the First Lady are yet to commentare.
