Tanoso Chief Murdered At His Farm; Police Launch Investigation

The Bono East Regional Police Command has commenced investigations into the gruesome murder of Nana Owusu Korokor, the Akwamuhene of Tanoso, who was allegedly shot dead on his farm on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
According to reports, the tragic incident occurred in the early hours of the day. Nana Owusu Korokor was found lifeless at his farm, prompting immediate police attention and public concern within the Tanoso community in the Techiman Municipality.
Police investigators have since conducted an autopsy at the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman, which confirmed that the deceased chief died from gunshot wounds.
The motive behind the killing remains unclear as investigations continue.
Family members of the late chief have expressed deep sorrow and outrage over his death. In an interview with the media, Mr. S. K. Donkor, speaking on behalf of the family, described Nana Owusu Korokor as a peaceful and development-oriented traditional leader whose passing has left a vacuum in the community.
He appealed to the Ghana Police Service to ensure that justice is served swiftly.
“We are heartbroken by this painful loss. Nana lived an exemplary life and was committed to the progress of Tanoso.
We are pleading with the police to bring the perpetrators to justice,” Mr. Donkor stated.
The Bono East Regional Police Command has assured the public of its commitment to uncover the truth behind the killing and urged residents to remain calm while assisting with credible information to aid the investigation.
