Three In Custody After Failed Attempt To Bribe Police Over Drug Arrest.

The Western Regional Police Command has arrested three persons in connection with the transportation of suspected narcotic substances intercepted within the region.

Briefing the media, the Western Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, said the arrest was made around 5 p.m. on the previous day.

According to her, the first truck was intercepted at the Assorko Assaman Police Barrier by officers on duty. Upon stopping the vehicle, three suspects fled the scene, but one was apprehended.

The arrested suspect subsequently led police to a second truck parked at Nkroful Junction.

In total, three individuals have been arrested.

They have been identified as Moses Kweku Tawiah 44; Isaac Kwame Kunto, 44; and Kobina Forson 55.

Superintendent Adiku disclosed that Isaac Kwame Kunto and Kobina Forson allegedly attempted to bribe police officers with GH¢69,000 in a bid to secure the release of their colleague.

The officers declined the offer and immediately arrested the two suspects.

The trucks were later offloaded, revealing 152 large bales of suspected narcotic substances.

Each bale reportedly contained about 82 pieces of compressed substances believed to be Indian hemp, wrapped in yellow packaging.

She also advice the general public to desist from such act as this drugs are destroying the youth and also applauded the officers incharge for their swift actions.
