Salma Community Denies Galamsey Arrest Clams, Affirms Peace With Adamus.

The Ebusuapanyin of Salma Nana Kwaw Nkrumah III, in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region has dismissed reports suggesting that some youth in the community have been arrested for engaging in illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey.

According to him, the claims published by some newspapers are false and misleading, stressing that no youth from Salma has been arrested in connection with galamsey activities.

He further emphasized that the Salma community is in good terms with Adamus Resources Limited, noting that there is no tension or conflict between the two parties.

The traditional leader explained that the development of Salma largely depends on mining, and as such, the community is currently engaging the company in discussions to secure a piece of land for cooperative mining.

He believes this will help improve livelihoods and accelerate development in the area.

He therefore called on the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Angela List, to disregard the false reports and consider granting the community land to support their cooperative mining efforts, in order to sustain the peace and harmony that exist between the community and the mining company.

Some of the community leaders also added their voice and called on madam Angela List to support the community for their cooperative mining to help develope salma.

End.
