Omanhene Urges Ghanaians To Plant Trees To Help Prevent Flooding.

The Omanhene of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Council, Obrempong Nyanfo Krampah XI, has called on Ghanaians to embrace tree planting as a practical way of reducing flooding and protecting the environment.
Speaking at a community engagement, the Paramount Chief stressed that the indiscriminate felling of trees and poor environmental practices have contributed significantly to flooding in many parts of the country.
He urged residents to plant and nurture trees within their communities, explaining that trees help conserve the environment, improve water absorption, and reduce the risk of floods during the rainy season.
Obrempong Nyanfo Krampah XI also appealed to traditional authorities, local assemblies, schools, and environmental organisations to intensify public education on environmental conservation and support tree-planting initiatives.
He expressed optimism that a collective commitment to protecting the environment would help minimise flooding and create healthier and more resilient communities for future generations.
End.
