Final Year Student Dies In Meduma After Phone Electrocution During Rainstorm.

A 17 years old final year student of Asanteman Senior High School, identified as Harrison, has died in Meduma in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region after being electrocuted while using his phone during a rainstorm.

According to eyewitness accounts, Harrison had returned home from school and placed his phone on charge.

While the device was still connected, he continued using it to make a call when lightning struck, sending a surge through the phone and fatally electrocuted him.

The impact reportedly left severe burns around his neck and ears.

His body has since been deposited at the morgue as investigations continue into the incident.

The Assemblyman for the Meduma Electoral Area, Hon. Boat confirmed the details and expressed concern over the tragedy, urging residents to exercise caution when using electronic devices during heavy rains.
