We Are Suffering”: Anomangye Asuogya Junction Residents Cry Out Over 2-Months Water Cut.

For over two months, residents of Anomangye Asuogya Junction in Suame Municipality in the Ashanti region have been living without a single drop of water from their taps.
Mothers walk long distances with children in tow, students go to school unwashed, and families spend money they don’t have just to survive a basic need.
According to the community, taps have been dry since the outage began, forcing families to scramble daily for water to cook, clean, and meet basic household needs.
Many say they now spend heavily on water vendors and tankers, a cost they can barely afford.
The situation is affecting daily life across the area. Parents say children are missing school because there is no water at home, while workers also struggle to get ready for work.
Residents describe the situation as unbearable.
What has worsened frustration is that despite having no water, households continue to receive water bills.
“We are suffering. Our taps are not flowing, yet we still get bills. It’s alarming,” one resident said.
Community members are calling on the Ghana Water Company Limited to urgently address the problem and restore supply.
They say the issue is not isolated to Anomangye Asuogya Junction, as several other communities in the region are facing similar water shortages.
Residents warn that if the problem persists, they will be forced to take further action to draw attention to their plight.
They are urging GWCL and the Suame Municipal Assembly to prioritize the area and provide a clear timeline for when water will return.
