Another Fatal Accident On Ho-Klefe Road As Brake Failure Claims Lives.

Barely eight days after a similar crash, the Ho-Klefe road has recorded another tragic accident at the same location, raising fresh concerns about road safety on the steep descent into Ho-Bankoe.

A Kia truck with registration number GE 342-11, loaded with flat stones believed to be coming from Klefe, reportedly suffered brake failure while descending the hill.

The vehicle lost control and crashed, resulting in multiple casualties.

Eyewitnesses allege that about five people lost their lives in the accident, while several others sustained various degrees of injury. The injured were rushed to the Ho Teaching Hospital for treatment.

This latest incident mirrors a recent crash at the Ho Civic Centre, highlighting the severe risks posed by heavy cargo vehicles and brake failure on the steep terrain leading into Ho and surrounding areas.

Local authorities have reiterated calls for motorists, especially operators of heavy-duty vehicles, to undertake rigorous and routine maintenance of their vehicles, with particular attention to braking systems, to prevent further loss of life.

Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.

End.
