Deputy Minister Urges Pastors To Champion Environmental Cleanliness To End Flooding.

The Deputy Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources and Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, , has called on pastors across the country to use their pulpits to educate Ghanaians on the importance of environmental cleanliness.

Mrs. Tetteh-Agbotui described Monday’s flooding as unfortunate and urged Ghanaians to change their attitudes towards environmental sanitation by protecting drains, waterways and public spaces from indiscriminate dumping of refuse.

Speaking to the media during the National Thanksgiving service day at Awutu Jeikrodua, she appealed to religious leaders to dedicate this month to educating their congregations on the need to keep the environment clean to help prevent future flooding.

Meanwhile, the District Chief Executive for Awutu Senya west , Kala Nyamekye, also appealed to Ghanaians to stop dumping refuse into gutters and other waterways, stressing that such practices contribute significantly to flooding during heavy rains.
