Kasoa: Over 2,000 Vehicles Intercepted for Using Unauthorized Lights and Sirens – MTTD Commander.

The Central East Regional Commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), Superintendent Hannah Adjei, says more than 2,000 vehicles have been intercepted for using unauthorized lamps, strobe lights and sirens.

According to Supt. Adjei, the enforcement forms part of efforts by the MTTD to curb road crashes and improve road safety in the region.

She explained that the unauthorized use of emergency-style lights and sirens by motorists can create confusion on the roads and contribute to accidents, prompting the MTTD to intensify enforcement of the relevant road traffic regulations.

Supt. Adjei cautioned drivers and vehicle owners against installing or using unauthorized lamps, strobe lights and sirens on their vehicles.

She extended the warning to owners and riders of motorcycles and tricycles, urging them to comply with the regulations and remove any unauthorized devices fitted to their vehicles.

The MTTD Commander Supt. Hannah called on motorists to cooperate with law enforcement agencies as the exercise continues, stressing that the measures are intended to promote discipline and reduce road crashes.
