Improving Security Is A Shared Responsibility As Chief And Residents Cut Sod To Construct Police Station To Curb Crime.

The Chief, Nananom and Residents of Kwame Dwuma Sreso in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region have cut sod for the construction of a police station to help reduce robbery and other criminal activities in the area.

On Monday,April 13, 2026, Angel TV reported a tragic incident at Kwame Dwuma Sreso, where Berekum Chelsea player, Dominic Frimpong was shot dead while returning from Samreboi after playing a Premier League match with FC Samartex 1996.

The following day, a truck driver was also shot on the same highway.

These incidents have heightened concerns among residents, prompting the Chief, Nananom and the people of Kwame Dwuma Sreso to take steps to construct a police station in the community to improve security and help curb robbery and other crimes.

Speaking to Kofi Gyabaah Prof Angel TV Reporter after the sod-cutting ceremony, the Chief of Kwame Dwuma Sreso, Nana Owusu Amoako Dwumah Ababio, said the numerous robbery cases have claimed lives in the area.

He said Nananom and residents could no longer wait for government intervention, hence the decision to initiate the construction of a police station to improve security and prevent future occurrences.

The Assemblyman, Nananom and some residents have also appealed to the government, residents in the diaspora and philanthropists to support the project.

They believe the police station will help prevent robbery and reduce crime along the Bibiani-Goaso Highway.
