Metro Mass Transit Set For Revival – MD Issues Ultimatum To Encroachers

The Managing Director of Metro Mass Transit Limited, Lawyer Kale Cezar, has announced the government’s commitment to reviving the company from its current state to a fully functional and efficient public transport operator.
According to the MD, Metro Mass Transit (MMT) was originally established to provide affordable and accessible transportation for Ghanaians.
However, he acknowledged that the current condition of the company does not reflect that vision.
During a tour of the MMT bus terminal and yard in Takoradi, Lawyer Cezar observed that some private transport operators had encroached on the terminal space.
He has therefore issued a two-week ultimatum for all encroachers to vacate the premises to allow for earthworks and rehabilitation to begin.
In an interview, the MD revealed that several buses had developed faults and were left parked.
He assured the public that steps were being taken to repair the faulty buses and that new ones would be brought in to boost the fleet.
He also noted that some individuals and groups occupying MMT warehouses are paying unreasonably low fees.
He indicated that these arrangements would be reviewed and renegotiated to ensure the company’s assets are used profitably.
