Sekyere South MCE Cuts Sod For Classroom Block At Yamoakurom.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Sekyere South, Hon. Evans Amoh Twumasi, has cut the sod for the construction of a three-unit classroom block with auxiliary facilities at Yamoakurom in the Ashanti Region.
The project forms part of the Assembly’s broader efforts to improve educational infrastructure and create a conducive teaching and learning environment in the municipality.
The facility will include an office, a store, and sanitation amenities to support both teachers and pupils.
The project is expected to be completed within six months, with funding already secured for payment upon completion.
Addressing the gathering at the ceremony, Hon. Twumasi reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to prioritising education as a key driver of development.
He noted that providing adequate classroom infrastructure is essential to reducing congestion and improving the quality of education, particularly in rural communities.
He urged the contractor to deliver quality work within the stipulated timeframe and called on residents to support and monitor the project to ensure its successful completion.
The Chief Executive Officer of Lipong Prestige Ltd, the contracting firm, Mr. Kwame Frimpong, expressed appreciation to the MCE for the opportunity to execute the project.
He assured traditional leaders and community members of his commitment to delivering the project ahead of schedule.
Mr. Frimpong also appealed to the community to cooperate with the contractor, especially when assistance is required, including support in the handling of building materials to facilitate smooth progress of work.
Meanwhile, the Headmaster o f Yamoakurom D/A Primary School, Mr. Amankwah Francis, welcomed the initiative and thanked the Assembly for addressing the school’s long-standing infrastructure challenges.
He noted that the new facility would significantly improve teaching and learning conditions and reduce the burden on pupils, many of whom currently walk several kilometres to access Junior High School education.
Mr. Amankwah further pledged the school’s full support to safeguard the project and ensure its successful completion.
The classroom block, when completed, is expected to enhance access to quality education for children in Yamoakurom and surrounding communities.
