Cocoa Farmers In Ahondwo Operational Area Engaged Stakeholders Over Their Challenges.

The Ahondwo operational area of cocoa farmers in the Nkwanta south municipality of the Oti region engaged their stakeholders to lay bear their challenges before them.
The farmers shared their challenges and difficulties facing them in their endeavor as cocoa farmers and hope their superiors would forward their grievances to the regional and national levels for redress.
In an interview with the organizing secretary of the Ahondwo operational area cocoa farmers, Mr.John Paul Anewaba, he registered their frustration over unavailability of buying center in the entire Ahondwo operational area.
According to him, they have to send their cocoa to other operational areas like, Brewaniase, Kecheibi, Krontang with its associated risk before they can sell their cocoa which according to him is a big challenge to them.
With regards to mobile network, Mr. Anewaba says all the towns under the Ahondwo operational area namely, Chaiso, Kpeve, Dufrumkpa, Ahondwo and Salifu lack mobile network preventing them from engaging their technically officers when they need them.
According to him, lack of mobile network across the operational area is really affecting them negatively, he is therefore calling on the assembly, government, NGOs and the mobile network operators to come to their aid.
Meanwhile, the district extension coordinator for Dodi Papase cocoa district whose jurisdiction covered the Ahondwo operational area, Mr.Loveson Tetteh also add his voice to the provision of mobile network to the area.
According to him, his technically officers suppose to live among the farmers at the operational area but due to lack of mobile network, they cannot stay.
He explain that, the technically officers can be called to attend to issues anytime hence the need for them to be at a place where there is mobile network, he is therefore calling on the mobile network operators to extend their networks to the Ahondwo operational area.
With regards to the importance of mobile network to the people, the Kyeame peni (senior linguist) of Ahondwo, Nana Nkeboare has vowed to provide land free of charge to mobile network operators if only their challenge is land.
According to him, the mobile network is essential for the growth of every community with regards to education, trade, relationship and what have you hence his willingness to donate land for provision of mobile network in their jurisdiction.
