Six (6) Suspects And Ring Leader Arrested In Military Disguise At Illegal Miniing Site.

The Nkawie Divisional Operation Command led by ASP Mr Noah Yakpah and Chief inspector Fosu and his Men has apprehended five suspects along with their ringleader for allegedly posing as military personnel and conducting illegal operations at a mining site.
The incident occurred at an active mining site near Kotokoum in the Atwima Mponua District. According to police reports, the suspects claimed to be personnel from the 4BN military unit in Kumasi and were spotted at the site wearing standard-issue soldier attire.
Extensive Damage and Seized Weaponry
Upon arriving at the scene, the suspects reportedly caused extensive damage to various properties and equipment at the mining site.
Following a coordinated response, the Nkawie Police managed to intercept and arrest the individuals.
A thorough search conducted by the police led to the retrieval of an extensive cache of tactical gear and weapons, which includes:

7 Rounds of live ammunition
3 Bottles of pepper spray
5 Pairs of handcuffs
1Pistol
2Bayonets
1Jackknife
3Shockers (Tasers)
6Sets of military uniforms
12 Mobile phones
5 Pieces of body armor
The Suspects Identified
The police have released the identities of the five individuals arrested at the site as:
1. Abubakar Sadik
2. Alasfat Fuseini
3. Abdul Basit
4. Zukalanine
5. Seidu Sumaila
6 Sharif Musah was also taken into custody.
The suspected ringleader, who is believed to have orchestrated the operation and supplied the military uniforms to the group, has been identified as Zulkalanine Seidu Investigators revealed that Zulkalanini is a local miner residing in the Kotokoum area.
Legal Action
Following their arrest and interrogation by the Nkawie police, all suspects have been processed and are expected to appear today before the Nkawie Circuit Court, which is currently sitting at Toase, to face formal charges.
