Man In His 40s Found Dead In Asuyeboa River At Abuakwa Manhyia, Police Bury Decomposed Body.

A man believed to be in his 40s has been found dead under mysterious circumstances in the Asuyeboa River at Abuakwa Manhyia, in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The discovery has raised concern among residents, who say the deceased is not known to anyone in the community.

Speaking on the incident, the Assemblyman for the area, Hon. Evans Opoku, disclosed that the man had no known ties to Abuakwa Manhyia.

According to him, residents trooped to the scene after news of the body spread, but none could identify him or provide details about his background.

The assemblyman said the community is now left with more questions than answers about how the man ended up in the area.

The body was said to be in an advanced state of decomposition when it was discovered, making identification difficult. Because of the condition and to prevent any health hazards, the police and environmental health officers quickly moved in and buried the remains.

The burial was carried out without delay since no family member or relative had come forward.

Hon. Evans Opoku is appealing to the public, especially those in nearby communities, to help with information that could lead to identifying the deceased or tracing his relatives.

He noted that until someone comes forward, the true identity and cause of death will remain unknown.
