𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿, Hon.Dr, Grace Ayensu Danquah 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗬𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶

As part of the Maternal Mortality Actionand Response Program (MMARP) tour in the Northern Region, the Deputy Minister for Health, Hon. Prof. Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah, has intensified community engagement with visits to Adibo and Gbungbaliga in the Yendi Municipality to strengthen local support for efforts to reduce maternal deaths.

She paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the Gbungbalga Traditional Area, inspected the Adibo Health Centre and CHPS compound, visited the Yendi Municipal Hospital, and met with elders and community members of Gbungbaliga to assess local health needs and strengthen support for maternal healthcare.

Hon. Ayensu-Danquah assured the communities that the Ministry of Health would work to address their priority health needs, while announcing that, under the Free Primary Health Care initiative, community health professionals equipped with backpacks would regularly visit communities to deliver essential healthcare services.

She also encouraged families to embrace healthy eating using locally available foods to improve maternal and child health.

The Paramount Chief of the Gbungbaliga Traditional Area, Naa Bapri Gbungbal-Naa Abdallah Abudu Sulemana, commended the Deputy Minister for engaging traditional leaders in the maternal mortality drive and appealed for support to improve staffing, expansion of Health facilities, accommodation, outreach transport, drug supplies and power backup at the Adibo Health Centre and Gbungbalga CHPS compound.
