The committee started its work immediately after they were inaugurated by *the board chair of National Peace Council, Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu.*
In an interview with the board chair of the national peace council, he admit that, the effort of the peace council is not yielding the expected results.
However, he point out that, they realize that, when the feuding tribes’ leaders left the meetings, they don’t engage their people at the grassroot to explain to them decisions taken.
He therefore urged the leadership of the feuding tribes to inform their subjects about the proceses leading to bringing back lasting peace.
Meanwhile, the *chairman for the Oti regional peace council, Mr. Peterkin Gyinae* hope the inauguration of the committee would bring lasting peace back to Nkwanta.
According to him, members are coming from all the feuding tribes for that matter, he believes they would work together with no suspiction by any tribe.
He therefore urged the members of the committee not to shield their people when they perpetrate any violence and accuse their counterpart of wrongdoing.
Moreover, a representative from the committee who is also a chief from one of the feuding tribes urged the committee not to deceive the peace council and generality of Ghanaians but committed to bringing lasting peace back to Nkwanta.
