Over 50 Pieces Of Equipment Used For Mining Burnt To Ashes By Atwima Mponua District Anti Galamsey Taskforce.

The Atwima Mponua District Anti-Galamsey Taskforce took decisive action against illegal and irresponsible mining activities along the River Offin, along the Adiembra and Nantiedi stretches.

In the course of the operation, over 50 pieces of equipment used for mining in and around the water body were destroyed as the Taskforce intensified efforts to protect the river and its surrounding environment from further degradation.

Our rivers and water bodies are a precious inheritance, and we cannot stand by while illegal mining activities threaten them, destroy aquatic ecosystems and compromise the future of our communities.

The operation sends a clear message: Atwima Mponua will continue to take firm and lawful action to protect its forests, rivers and other natural resources.

I commend the members of the District Anti-Galamsey Taskforce and all stakeholders supporting this important fight.
We will continue to strengthen monitoring, enforcement and community engagement to ensure that our water bodies are protected for generations to come.

Our water bodies are not for destruction. We must protect them today for the generations of tomorrow.
