Local Government Minister Charges Assemblies To Recruit Youth For Sanitation Work.

The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, has called on Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) across the country to recruit and engage young people in sanitation activities following government’s decision to channel sanitation funds directly to the assemblies.

The Minister made the call during the National Sanitation Day exercise held in Sekondi-Takoradi in the Western Region. The event was organized with support from the Western Regional Coordinating Council, the Church of Pentecost, Corp nation Foundation and Takoradi Technical University.

Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim commended the organizers and stakeholders for the successful execution of the exercise, describing it as one of the most impressive sanitation campaigns he had witnessed.

The Minister noted that people could be seen actively participating in the exercise in every corner of the metropolis, demonstrating a renewed commitment to environmental sanitation.

The westen regional Minister Hon. Joseph Mensah on his part thanked all who came out to participate in the sanitation exercise and urged residence to partake in such activities.
