We Will Not Relent Until Justice Prevails For Our Innocent Girls” – Concerned Adansi Citizens Protest Over Alleged Sexual Assault Of 19 Students By Headmaster.

Tension has mounted at Obuasi Senior High Technical School (Obuasi SHTS) in the Ashanti Region over allegations of rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment levelled against the Headmaster, Mr. Zakaria Abdulai.
According to the demonstrators, the alleged acts started as far back as March / April this year, with the Headmaster allegedly engaging in sexual acts with students of the school.
The NPP Women’s Wing, led by the National Women’s Organiser, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson, together with the Concerned Citizens of Adansi, today, 6th November 2026, demonstrated in Obuasi against the Headmaster to demand justice for the innocent girls.
The demonstrators say this is not the first time such allegations have been made against Mr. Abdulai, and this time he should have been apprehended and made to face the full rigours of the law.
They expressed worry that the alleged acts are tarnishing the image of the school, which is known for academic and technical excellence, and are traumatising the affected girls, their parents and the entire community.
Some of the demonstrators also accused the government of handling the matter with politics, meanwhile the act is tarnishing the image of the school and destroying the future of the innocent girls.
They have therefore issued a strong ultimatum to government.
According to them, if government fails to respond to their demands, they will march to the Jubilee House in Accra to demand justice.
They added that after two weeks, if they do not get any response, they will march to the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to demonstrate against the Regional Minister until justice is secured for the innocent girls.
The demonstrators chanted: “We are not going to relent until justice for our innocent girls.”
Meanwhile, the 3rd National Vice Chairman of the NPP, Henry Nana Boakye, has described the development at Obuasi SHTS as devastating.
According to him, the issue should not be politicized, as it borders on the safety and dignity of young girls.
He also questioned the continued silence of the President on the matter and appealed to the CID Boss to act, stressing that as a woman, she should understand the pain of the victims.
“What is going on is devastating and this issue shouldn’t be politicized. The President has remained silent and the CID Boss, you are also a lady, you should feel the pain of these innocent girls,” he is quoted as saying.
