Residents Of Teacher Mante Appeal To IGP, Police And Government Over Alleged Land Guard Activities.

Residents of Teacher Mante in the Ayensuano Municipality in the eastern region are calling on the Ghana Police Service, the Inspector General of Police I.G.P, and government to urgently intervene in what they describe as a takeover of their properties by land guards.

According to the residents, lands and building plots in the community are being forcefully seized, leaving many homeowners and prospective developers unable to access their properties.

The residents allege that one Mr. Kofi Anokye is behind the ongoing activities in the area.

They say the situation has created fear, tension, and financial losses for families who have invested in land in Teacher Mante.

Residents speaking with the Media said we are pleading with the IGP, the police, and the government to come to our aid. Land guards have taken over our lands and building plots.

We can no longer build on our own properties, and we live in fear every day.

The residents are demanding immediate police action to restore order, arrest those behind the alleged takeovers, and protect their properties from further encroachment.

The Chief of Teacher Mante, Barima Agyei Okodie Koranteng III, has stated that he does not know anyone by the name Kofi Anokye in the town.

He added that all lands at Teacher Mante belong to the Okyehene, and therefore, anyone seeking to acquire land in the area must follow the proper traditional procedures.

Speaking on land issues in his jurisdiction, Barima Koranteng III said, All the land at Teacher Mante belongs to Okyehene therefore if anyone need a land he or she need see Nananom for proper land documentation.

He urged the public to desist from dealing with unauthorized individuals and to contact the traditional authorities for legitimate land acquisition and documentation.

The Chief’s statement is aimed at clarifying land ownership issues and preventing land disputes in Teacher Mante.

Meanwhile, the media team tried to speak with Mr. Kofi Anokye to hear his side of the story, but he refused to speak with the media.
