Lack Of Ambulance Compelled Residents To Use Tricycle Or Canoe As Ambulance At Agyan

Residents of Agyan, Akonu and Domunli in the Nzema East District of Ghana’s Western Region are facing significant challenges due to the lack of an ambulance at the Agyan Chip compound.
The facility, which serves three communities, is in dire need of an ambulance, beds, and standard medical materials.
According to the residents, when patients are admitted to the facility, they are often forced to use tricycles or canoes to transport them to Axim, a journey that can be life-threatening in emergency situations.
The residents disclosed this to Angel Tv News reporter Bismark Mensah during a visit to the community, appealing to the government or any benevolent individual to come to their aid.
The residents’ plight is further compounded by the lack of a functional toilet facility.
Although the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) had initiated the construction of a toilet facility, the project was abandoned mid-construction, leaving the community without a proper place for sanitation.
As a result, residents are forced to resort to open defecation, which poses serious health risks.
The residents are crying out for help, and it remains to be seen whether the government or any organization will respond to their plea.
One thing is certain, however: the people of Agyan deserve better, and it is up to those in positions of authority to ensure that their basic needs are met.
