Adowato Assemblyman Urges Ghana Health Service To Withdraw Query Letter Issued To Ms. Bernice Aboagye

The Assemblyman for Adowato electoral area in Ashanti Region, Mr. I.K Acheampong, has appealed to the Ghana Health Service to urgently withdraw a query letter issued to Ms. Bernice Aboagye, a staff nurse at the Nkenkaasu District Hospital in the Ashanti region.
According to Mr. Acheampong , the query is unwarranted and fails to acknowledge the challenging circumstances faced by Nurses.
The mother of the nurse Ms. Bernice Aboagye, is a single parent who have struggled to make it to the profession.
She completed her national service and has been posted to work but hasn’t received a salary for 10 months.
The query letter, dated October 10, 2025, and signed by Dr. Samuel Freeman Mensah, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, referred to videos circulating on social media in which the nurse allegedly used “unprintable, inappropriate and scandalous words” against the Health Minister.
It will be recalled that on October 2, 2025, some newly recruited nurses and midwives went on a protest march in Accra to demand payment of salary arrears.
During the protest, Ms. Aboagye allegedly called the Minister a “drama king” and accused him of caring more about photo opportunities than addressing the challenges facing health workers.
Mr. Acheampong in an interview with Angel Tv/Fm Bismark Mensah disclosed that, The Ghana Health services should reconsider their decision and call the nurse back to post ensure that all her arrears are been paid.
