Woman With Blood Stains And Bruises Dies During Police Interrogation In Assin Fosu

A tragic incident occurred in Assin Fosu in the Central Region after a woman believed to be in her early 50s died shortly during police interrogations, after being found in a distressed state with visible blood stains on her body.
Residents discovered the woman lying half-naked with bruises and blood around her mouth near the Old Education Road in Assin Fosu.
Alarmed by her condition, they quickly alerted the police, who rushed her to the Assin Fosu Polyclinic for urgent medical attention.
According to Detective Sergeant Richard Mawuli Etu, the woman, who was conscious at the time, provided limited details during police questioning.
She identified herself as Christiana Otoo from Obuasi New Site, stating she was en route to Twifo Praso to visit her two sons, Joe and Yaw Akoama.
She reportedly mentioned stopping over in Assin Fosu to visit a man at Habitat but collapsed and died before she could provide further information.
Police have begun working closely with medical personnel to ascertain the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to trace the woman’s family, and authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in locating her relatives.
