Government’s Poised To Support Farmers To Increase Local Food Production – Mce

The MCE for Effutu municipal of Central Region Hon. Rev. Atta Mensah has stated that, the John Mahama led government is poised to provide massive support to both peasant and large scale farmers across the country.

According to the MCE, the government’s vision to provide support to farmers is increase food production in Ghana in order to drastically reduced the importation of food from other countries.

He was optimistic encourage Ghanaian citizens to patronize made in Ghana food and desist from loving foreign foods like perfume rice and others.

Rev. Atta Mensah was speaking at the 41st Farmers Day Celebration at Ansaful a surburb of Winneba with the theme: Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana and Secure the Future .

On the other hand, the former MCE Alhaji Zubairu Kassim who represented the MP for Effutu Hon. Alexander Afenyo Markin used the opportunity to entreat Ghanaians to venture into farming and patronize made in Ghana farm produces in order to boost the socioeconomic development of the country.
