Tragic Fire Claims Six Lives, Including Infant, In Ashanti Region

A devastating fire has claimed the lives of six people, including a four-month-old baby, in the Atwima Nwahiagya South district of the Ashanti Region.

The fire, which occurred at Abuakwa Manhyia, is believed to have been caused by electric and power outages.7

According to an tenant who is also an eyewitness Vida, “The light went off yesterday evening, and when it came back on at 11:45pm, I heard shouting from my landlord’s room saying the house is on fire.

We called the fire service, but they didn’t arrive on time, and six people were burnt into ashes.”

The fire ravaged the house, leaving nothing but ashes and charred remains.

Five of the victims were female, and one was a four-month-old baby boy.

Mr Kwakye who share wall with the burnt house expressed his distress over the incident, describing it as a nightmare. The community is in shock, and investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
