Tragedy In Mankessim Colleague Brutally Stamped To Death Over GHC 300 Debt In New Nkusukum

Mankessim, Central mfatseman municipality. Region – A dispute over a seemingly small debt of 300 Ghana cedis (GHC 300.00) has tragically culminated in the death of a man in Mankessim’s New Nkusukum area, within the Mfantseman municipality.

The victim, identified as Agyeiku, reportedly met his untimely end after a violent altercation with his friend and colleague, Kwame Pluto.

According to eyewitness accounts and information gathered by Douglas Oyiboh Amponsah, the incident occurred after the two friends, who had been working together as “hoslers” (likely referring to a type of informal labor or shared venture), returned from a day’s work within the Mfantseman municipality. Upon their return, they were preparing to divide their earnings.

During the division of the money, Agyeiku allegedly approached Kwame Pluto, requesting his share of the earnings.

However, sources indicate that Kwame Pluto refused to hand over the amount owed to Agyeiku.

This refusal led to a heated argument, with Agyeiku reportedly holding onto Kwame Pluto in an attempt to secure his money.

In a fit of rage, Kwame Pluto allegedly produced a sharp object, described as a “size” (possibly a knife or similar implement), and proceeded to repeatedly stamp Agyeiku.

The brutal assault left Agyeiku severely injured and he subsequently fainted.

He was rushed to the Roman Catholic Hospital in the municipality later that night, around 8 PM, in a critical condition.

However, despite efforts to save him, Agyeiku succumbed to his injuries.

Hon. Ali Abubakar Soring, the assembly member for New Nkusukum, confirmed the incident and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life.

The motive behind the extreme violence over such a sum of money remains a grave concern for the community.

Police investigations are reportedly underway to ascertain the full details of the incident and bring Kwame Pluto to justice.

This unfortunate event highlights the need for peaceful conflict resolution and raises questions about the underlying factors that could lead to such devastating outcomes.
