DCE Cautions Gomoa Gyaman Residents Over Poor Sanitation

The District Chief Executive for Gomoa Central, Hon. Hackman Kwabina Aidoo, has cautioned residents of Gomoa Gyaman to improve sanitation practices in the community or face legal action.

The DCE expressed concern over the worsening state of sanitation in the area during an interaction with Angel TV reporter Nana Kojo Asare.

He described the situation as worrying and unacceptable, stressing that poor environmental hygiene poses serious health risks to residents.

Hon. Aidoo used the opportunity to urge residents to take responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean.
He further directed environmental health officers to strictly enforce sanitation by-laws and summon individuals who flout the rules to face the law.

According to him, maintaining a clean environment is a shared responsibility and not solely the duty of the Assembly.

Meanwhile, the Assembly Member for the area, John Kwabina Gyasi, also expressed frustration over the attitude of some residents toward sanitation.

He warned that he would not intervene on behalf of anyone prosecuted for violating sanitation regulations.

He advised residents to comply with the community’s sanitation by-laws to avoid arrest or prosecution.

Some residents who participated in the clean-up exercise also spoke to the media, pledging their commitment to maintaining cleanliness and supporting efforts to improve sanitation in Gomoa Gyaman.
End.
