The Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency, Hon. Francis Asenso Boakye, says peace remains the major priority of the constituency as the NPP constituency elections take place today.
The MP made the comment this morning while touring the election venue to assess proceedings.
Hon. Asenso Boakye disclosed that the ongoing election has been peaceful so far, with delegates conducting themselves in an orderly manner.
He noted that although there is heavy security presence at the venue, the atmosphere is calm.
“This morning over 1,200 delegates are expected to vote today and everything is going on well,” he said.
It will be recalled that the last constituency election in Bantama turned chaotic, leading to tension among delegates and party supporters.
The MP expressed satisfaction that this time around, the process has been smooth and peaceful.
“We don’t want a repeat of what happened previously. Peace is our major priority as a constituency, and I’m happy that so far we are seeing that,” Hon. Asenso Boakye stated.
He commended the Electoral Commission officials, security personnel, and delegates for ensuring decorum throughout the process.
Voting is currently underway with over 1,200 delegates expected to elect new constituency executives to steer the affairs of the NPP in Bantama for the next four years.
