Grave Robbers Strike In Mampong As Police Launch Full-Scale Investigation.

Grave robbers have desecrated the grave of an 85-year-old woman in Mampong, exhuming her remains and returning the body without the head.

The disturbing incident has plunged the community into shock, anger, and deep sorrow.

The deceased, a revered Queen Mother of the local Frafra community, was laid to rest barely a year ago. Her family had been preparing to mark the first anniversary of her passing when the shocking discovery was made.

According to sources, the unidentified perpetrators broke into the grave, removed the body from the coffin, and later abandoned it without the head raising strong suspicions of ritual motives.

Police in Mampong have since commenced investigations to track down and apprehend the perpetrators behind the heinous act.

The remains have been reburied under strict police supervision as investigations continue.

Assembly Member for the Mampong Akyeremade Electoral Area, Hon. Kwame Nkrumah, who confirmed the incident to Sompa News, described the act as barbaric, culturally offensive, and spiritually disturbing.

He called for swift justice to restore calm and confidence within the community.

Residents are demanding urgent action from security agencies to ensure the culprits are brought to book.
