Residents of Wawase in the Ashanti Region are facing immense hardship due to the lack of a good road and electricity.

The poor road condition limits access to the community, with cars only managing to visit once a week.

The ongoing rural electrification project has stalled, with workers abandoning the site a month ago, leaving the community in darkness.

The challenges are multifaceted, during the rainy season, residents are cut off from the market, and in the dry season, dust becomes a major issue.

Access to water is also a significant problem, with residents struggling to get clean water for domestic use.

Speaking on behalf of the residents Assemblyman Hon Samuel Awuni voiced the residents’ frustrations, revealing that despite assurances from the MCE, there’s no clear timeline for fixing the road.

The residents are left wondering when their plight will be addressed, and some are beginning to lose hope.
