Vulnerable Residents To Access Healthcare As Ghana National Gas Company Registers 20,000 Onto NHIS.

The Ghana National Gas Company has launched a free registration exercise for 20,000 underprivileged residents across eight districts in the Western Region, enabling them to enrol onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

The initiative forms part of the company’s efforts to improve access to healthcare for vulnerable people within its operational communities.

Speaking to our reporter at a registration centre in Nsein near Axim,Mr Henry Woku Anlimah , Assistant Manager for Corporate Social Responsibility at Ghana Gas, said the programme is aimed at ensuring that residents can easily access healthcare services, especially during emergencies.

According to him, the registration exercise started on Thursday, March 12, and will run until April 10, 2026.

The Ellembele district manager for NHIS Mr. Abraham Polley Koffie the in an interveiw said the execise will help ease the burden of some residence who has to travel far from to to register and renew their NHIS.
