Strengthening Military And Civil Corperation.

The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) has begun an Operational Field Visit *(OFV)* to Nkwanta South Municipality in the Oti Region.

This exercise bridges classroom theory and field operations, giving students firsthand experience in internal security and civil-military coordination.

The visit involves Senior Staff Course 47 students. Its goal is to develop officers skilled in analyzing security challenges and providing military advice at operational and strategic levels.

Nkwanta South was chosen due to recurring security issues, including communal tensions, chieftaincy disputes, land conflicts, and socio-economic grievances, which have prompted military deployment to support civil authorities.

He explained the exercise was aimed at “Strengthening Military Aid to Civil Authority/Internal Security Operations in the Oti Region: Enhancing Readiness, Coordination, and Responsiveness for National Development.

The visit aims to also examine local conflict drivers, assess current military deployments, analyze civil-military relations, and develop recommendations to improve operational effectiveness.

Colonel Quartey expressed confidence that the objectives would be achieved, enhancing military support for national development.

Nkwanta South MCE *Joseph Antwi Awal* welcomed the delegation, thanking GAFCSC for choosing the area.

He highlighted that the exercise would improve security intelligence and promote lasting peace, vital for business growth.

The MCE assured full support, emphasizing collaboration’s importance for academic and long-term stability.
