Eight (8)-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Pond After Allegedly Being ushed by playmate.

An eight-year-old boy drowned in a fish pond at Degede, a suburb of Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.

The deceased, identified as Kwabena Kesse, was a Class Three pupil aged eight.

He reportedly met his untimely death after going to a fish pond with some friends to swim at Degede, a community in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.

According to his grandmother, Vivian Amankwaa, she was at home when one of the boy’s playmates rushed to her in panic and reported that another child had allegedly pushed her grandson into the pond.

She said she immediately began calling for help from neighbours because she was unwell and had only just returned from the hospital.

Neighbours in the area, upon hearing the alarm, rushed to the scene in an attempt to save the child. After he was pulled from the pond, it was discovered that he was no longer breathing.

The incident was subsequently reported to the Bibiani Police. Officers arrived at the scene, conveyed the body to the morgue, and have since begun investigations into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
