Kasoa Petty Traders Petitions Trade Minister As They Protest Against Mce Over Demolishing Of Market.

Petty traders in Kasoa, within the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region, have Petitioned the ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry after protesting against the MCE Hon. Seth Banini and MP Hon. Naa Koryor for their decision to demolish Kasoa old Market and build stores which occupies over 800 members of the Association.

The Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly has indicated that the traders will be relocated to the Iron City Market to allow for the demolition and renovation of the current market into modern mini shops.

However, the traders have opposed the decision, expressing concerns that the Assembly intends to evict them permanently and use the space for other purposes.

Today, the traders staged a massive protest against both the Assembly and the Member of Parliament, Hon. Phillis Naa Koryo and after that submitted a petition to the ministry of trade accusing the MCE of attempting to drive them out of their source of livelihood.

Meanwhile, the Director of Industries under the ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industries Mr. Kofi Addo who received the petition on behalf of the minister assured the pretty traders of their support.
End.
