Blind Cocoa Farmer Beg President Mahama To At least Pay them the Gh&2500 the Government says Is Due them.*

Asante Patrick, a 65-year-old blind cocoa farmer from Ahafo Kukuom in the Asunafo south district in the Ahafo Region, is pleading with President Mahama to release the promised GH₵2500 payment.

He’s been waiting since December, when he sent bags of cocoa beans for purchase, but hasn’t received a dime.

“I have to beg before I can eat,” Asante Patrick, also known as Kwabena Anane, lamented.

His situation is dire, and he’s not alone. Many Ghanaian cocoa farmers are facing similar hardships, with some forced to limit meals to once a day due to unpaid beans.

End.
